11,000 SQ/FT ESTATE OF LOCAL ARTISTS AND EDUCATORS:

LINDA ADELE GOODINE + MARK RICHARDSON

Aether Estate Sales Co. is proud to present the estate sale of Linda Adele Goodine and Mark Richardson, local artists and educators. After years of serving knowledge and beauty to the local community, the couple is moving south to enjoy warm weather and an endowed professorship. The sale, occurring on July 17, 18, + 19, will open the doors of their home, inviting the public to peruse a lifetime of collections and artistic endeavors.

The home, an 11,000 sq/ft church designed by famed local firm Vonnegut & Bohn, is a culturally significant landmark within the city of Indianapolis. Built in 1910, it operated as the All Souls Unitarian Church for nearly 50 years. Kurt Vonne- gut Sr. was married within its walls. Goodine and Richardson rescued the building from neglect in the 90’s. It took the couple more than 18 months to bring the space back to its former glory, but it was worth it. Taking advantage of the space’s natural residential layout, they converted a church into a home.

The residence has served as an incubator for the local art scene for almost twenty years. Goodine and Richardson have hosted student marriages, fund-raisers, concerts, parties, and more, all in the name of supporting local talent. They have even hosted Tibetan Gyuto Monks, known for their overtone singing and touring with the Grateful Dead.

Combined, Goodine and Richardson have over 60 years of teaching experience. Through that achievement, they have impacted the entire culture of Indianapolis, all the while amassing a collection of eclectic possessions, including:

  • CIVIL WAR DOCUMENTS

  • LOCAL ARTWORK + SCULPTURE WORK

  • VINTAGE QUILTS

  • PRIMITIVE FURNITURE

  • PEWS + CONFESSIONAL BOOTHS

  • EARLY AMERICAN STONEWARE

  • CHRISTIAN AND RELIGIOUS EPHEMERA

  • STUDENT WORK

  • ESTATE JEWELERY

  • FINE ART
CERAMICS • PHOTOGRAPHY • PRINTS • TIN TYPES Ed Paschke, Christo, Don Reits, Akio Takamori

This enormous, family-owned estate is full of local work, with treasures in every nook and cranny. For more information on the home, please visit these local stories:
