Terms and Conditions of Sale- Accepting Cash, Good Check (with bank letter of credit unless prior approval by David Allen (#5600) or other MCA official), VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. BUYER’S PREMIUM OF 13% ON EACH LOT SOLD (10% WHEN PAYING BY CASH OR CHECK). Payment due day of sale, or within 5 days, if by absentee bid. Absentee bids accepted ($50.00 minimum). Items must be removed day of sale day unless other arrangements have been made with Music City Auction. In addition, Internet bidders must abide by Terms and Conditions listed on the website. All persons seeking a bid number must show current photo ID (driver’s license) and provide correct, current address and phone number. 9.25% TN State sales tax will be collected on all applicable sales. Dealers will provide a current copy of tax exempt certificate for MCA records in order to waive sales tax. All announcements made day of sale take precedent over any printed, verbal, or electronic material. Join us OCTOBER 6, 2014 for a MONDAY NITE ABSOLUTE LIVE AUCTION at our Auction facility in downtown Nashville, TN. The auction hall is located at 114 George L. Davis Blvd, between Broadway & Church Street, on the interstate frontage road. All auctions are free to attend and open to the public. This auction will feature over 250+ lots, including a collection of Civil War & military items from a private collection. We will also be selling a large collection of sports memorabilia from another private collector. Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve! ABSENTEE BIDDING VIA INTERNET AVAILABLE.

Partial List of Items

·         Civil War (Confederate) Saddle- Marked 12” Seat, wood stirrups, was used in the Civil War.
Was recovered (original “drumhead” material still present under current leather) during Roosevelt’s “Rough Rider” era.

·         RARE Civil War Tintype of Mounted Calvary- Close examination show saddle blanket, clothing & horse tack, all from the period. Soldier is wearing square rim glasses. Pictured is a Texas Officer, whose duties included writing orders from commanding officers in the field.

·         Civil War Bone Dominoes & Original “Allegany Arsenal” I.D. plate- Original period bone dominoes with center pin.

·         RARE Civil War CDV “The Colored Volunteer”- Clipped corner, but otherwise in good condition. Has been framed for protection.

·         Pair of Antique Spurs, possibly bronze- circa late 1700s/early1800s. Buckles are square & the plunger is pointed, indicative of that era.

·         Revolutionary War to Civil War Button Set

·         Extremely RARE “3 Acorn” Rank button

·         1800s Woman’s Sash Clip with depicted Queen Victoria

·         Pair of Antique “pen” knives (not folding, but with sheaths)

·         Revolutionary War-era Copper Kettle- original silver used for leak repairs, used primarily for water & coffee (mainly water, as the copper kept the water cool)

·         1805 HMS “Victory” Dress Horse Tack- worn during parades

·         Complete set (Patent date 1847) Rogers Silverplate Cutlery Set, with cotton roll-up. Believed to be an Officer’s set

·         Original 44 W.C.F. Bullet Mold- 3-Ring, used to form square end bullets

·         Civil War Stag Handle Boot Knife- used for “close contact” engagements or hand-to-hand combat

·         Indian War-era Binoculars- U.S. Army Signal Service, manufactured by Andrew J. Lloyd Co. (Boston), with “expandable” shades/covers

·         Pair of Civil War Cook’s Knives- one “skinner” to remove the animal hide, 1 “butcher” knife

·         Civil War Field Frying Pan- in excellent condition, used by soldier’s in the field

·         Antique Hand-forged Wagon Train Cook Skillet- Copper pan with “rat-tail” iron handle

·         Civil War Blacksmith’s Smelt Pot & Ladle- used for forging many different items

·         Civil War Mini-Ball Ladle- Patent Date June 14, 1864, used by soldier’s to smelt and to pour into mini-ball mold

·         Mexican War-era Hip Knife & Sheath- original animal hide sheath with etchings on blade and sheath

·         19th Century Victorian-era “4-D” Puzzle- complete with puzzle cards and blocks

·         Vintage Goldtone Hummingbird Music Box- when wound, hummingbird moves and music plays

·         The Blue & Gray, Volumes 1 & 2- Once owned by Captain Marion D. Joyce-Armor (stamped inside cover). 1st editions. 1950. Also stamped “ Post Library Property of U.S. Army Camp Atterbury”

·         Antique General Lee & General Grant “ByGones” by Angus Peter Macdonall-Comes with COA. This framed print was owned and was displayed in the home of Lt. Col. Walter Herron Taylor, General Lee’s “right hand man.” Taylor handled most of Lee’s general correspondence. For example, Taylor delivered the famous “if practicable” order from Lee to General Richard S. Ewell, at his line below Cemetery Hill during the Battle of Gettysburg.

·         1850-1860 era (Mortimer of London) Double Barrel Shot Gun- The COA, which comes with the gun, states that the “weapon is 100% guaranteed to be an absolute original and was carried by an ancestor of the Henry family of Marion County, Tennessee.” COA written by Larry Hicklen of Murfreesboro, TN long-time Dealer in Civil War relics and memorabilia.

·         Revolutionary War Musket- Originally a French Musket (muzzle loader) was converted to Breech Loader Shotgun in the 1870s. Additional information about the history of this type of weapon comes with it. Specifically, an “X with a circle” can be seen carved into the weapon, indicative that the weapon was once in the possession of a member of the “KGC” (Knights of the Golden Circle).

·         RARE 1961 “Battle of Gettysburg” re-enactment Sword & Scabbard- Marked “Fayetteville Armory”- CS. Less than 20 ever produced. Was used during the largest (at the time) scaled “Battle of Gettysburg” Re-enactment in 1961.

·         Original Union Model 1860 Foot Officer Dress Sword- Beautiful etchings on both sides of blade. Used during mustering, awards and any other ceremony/activity requiring parade dress.

·         “Robert E. Lee” Limited Edition Framed Print (42 out of 2500) by Robert Karr

·         Early 1900s “Martyred Presidents” (Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley) Framed Colored Lithograph

·         Over 2 dozen pieces of Sterling Silver

·         Jackie Robinson Game-Used Baseball Bat

ABSENTEE POLICY VIA INTERNET: MCA accepts absentee bids on select items via email (musiccityauction@comcast.net) under the following Terms & Conditions:

1)   Only bids of $50 or more will be acknowledged.

2)   Bidder must submit bid, via email, no later than 3PM CST on day of sale- OCTOBER 6, 2014

3)   Email must include complete name of bidder (first & last), complete telephone #, including area code, complete mailing address, item(s) and accompanying bid(s) and intended method of payment

4)   Bidder will submit their highest/best bid on each item. Bid does not include appropriate Buyer’s Premium (13%/10%), added to each successful lot sold. TN State Sales Tax of .0925% will apply to all applicable transactions.

5)   Bidding will be executed competently and fairly during the Live Auction by a member of the MCA staff.

6)  Once email has been received by MCA, a reply will be given to validate the bid submission. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A REPLY TO YOUR EMAIL-SUBMITTED BID(S), THEN MCA HAS NOT RECEIVED YOUR BID.

7)  Successful bidders can either pick up their items at our auction facility or have items shipped. Buyer pays for all shipping and handling costs, including insurance if desired. MCA uses UPS for shipping needs, unless otherwise instructed.
