Not responsible for accidents or bites in any location relating to this sale. Sturdy shoes with closed toes a "must," sun hat and sun screen highly recommended. There is much to see and you will need to walk from a designated parking area over uneven ground. Absolutely NOT recommended for children, and no children under 12 will be admitted, for children may be subject to injury because this is a working ranch with animals and critters of various types, cattle tanks, and stairs, and out buildings. Sorry, no exceptions. No ramps for scooters or wheelchairs.
The family reserves the right to refuse admittance to any one for any reason.
You will understand that we cannot answer email questions for we will be setting up the tents for the outside, shuffling merchandise to and fro and getting ready in general....... NO PHONE CALLS please, and by the way, be prepared for spotty phone service at times in this area. There is plenty to buy........ Come when you can. Signs will be posted on private property belonging to the ranch near Tx Hwy 183 and Tx Toll Rd 130 from Austin to Sequin. Look for the 40 ft tall Marboro Man on horseback sign as a landmark at Briarpatch Rd.......Mendoza Cemetary is a nearby landmark on the right side if coming from San Marcos/San Antonio.
No smoking on any part of the property inside or outside due to the current burn ban in effect. Smokers will be escorted off the property. No cameras or cell phone snaps without permission, please. The family wishes to maintain a sense of respect.
$10 per person admission Friday goes to charity. No charge Saturday or Sunday.

The family reserves the right to exclude items from the sale. We will update information and photos as soon as possible. Please check back for last minute photo updates Friday morning before you leave for the sale. Items sold Friday and Saturday will be indicated on photo updates to help you plan your Sunday visit.

Sterling flatware will be in display cases in various locations in the house and not in the Silver Vault drawers. Flatware includes: Strasbourg by Gorham (12), Mount Vernon by Lunt (8), Royal Danish by International Silver, Grandeur by Oneida, Madam Jumel by Gorham Whiting grapefruit spoons, and several early sterling silver patterns not often seen. Most sets are for 24 or more, but several are partial sets. There is a lovely luncheon service with mother of pearl handles.
This is a working ranch and the owners were active in the Corvette Club and related auto organizations. You will find T-shirts, emblems, hats, and dozens of items including interesting photos and articles on their connection to the Detroit auto industry. Edward Cole was the former president of General Motors.
Dollie Cole was renown for her generosity and philanthropy as well as an eye for finding unusual items to include in decorating. She often bought out entire boutiques that were going out of business and then distributed the contents to people in need. And she loved to shop for herself as well as others. From seasonal items to Pashmina scarves for a village, to buckets of beads intended for crafting, to fine art and Asian antiques to silk flowers to many Persian rugs of various sizes to - well, you name it, and it is there. Literally. We are astounded! Acres of things including iron fences, four trailers for big rigs, connex containers, tons of stored furniture, ranching relating items, Checker cabs waiting to be restored (available in Sale #2 scheduled for Oct 2-4. See listing for photos for Oct. 2), hot dog machines and other interesting similar items, catering equipment of all types, a harpsicord needing TLC, lamps and lighting of all types, large plants, jewelry and more jewelry of all types.
Available now are four Conex containers and four trailers for "big rigs."
The vehicles will be in Sale 2 scheduled for October 2-4, as will firearms and more jewelry. And in Sale 2 we will have literally hundreds of window blinds of various sizes, several green velvet sofas, designer look-alike luggage, many saddles, stands and loads of well used tack - and loads of affordable fashion jewelry, party favors, linens, and related items for all occasions, plus African art, hides, and more.
Now the big news: We will have a bazaar theme on the huge back terrace. Colorful tents with themes to handle the overflow from storerooms and cabinets will include: Mexico, Africa, CDs and electronics, Asian, Faux designer handbags and luggage, baskets and silk flowers galore, linens for huge gatherings and several hundred chargers of all types (remember they were known for entertaining), and more. Come and see for yourself. You MUST see for yourself!
We will post photos as we work and list the main items for each section of the sale, but mark your calendar now for the grand opening sale September 18-19-20 for Part I. There will be another sale every two weeks for an estimated total of four separate sales featuring various parts of the property. It is too vast to have only one sale, so plan to return for new sections of the house and outdoor buildings. Markdowns will be ongoing and we will explain when you are there.
Blue Whale Movers will be on hand to assist with packing, loading and shipping your items back home. We will have estimates of shipping costs on the many heavy and over sized items. They will be available to load your vehicles the days of the sale. Limited packing supplies will be available - if you anticipate buying breakable items, bring paper or bubble wrap. Please be advised you may need to return to your vehicle to bring in adequate packing paper if you do not wish to purchase from the movers. Security officers will direct you to loading areas when you are ready to depart.
