This sale is unique in its location off the beaten trail in historic King William, and in its interior design.......You've seen well-known metal artisan Isaac Maxwell's amazing designs in buildings across the state and in some of the best private homes, now you have the opportunity to buy a one-of-a-kind metal work of art offered for sale in his own home. Some of the designs are incomplete; others are ready for installation.
His designer's imagination extended to this unique two-story home, where you will discover concealed closets and shelves, gorgeous light fixtures, and interesting and sometimes amusing decorative touches. The tour is a treat in itself, and the modest but impressive setting will spark your imagination.
Family English antiques and interesting small decorative items including a traveling writing desk, a beautiful inlay box, a tea caddy, and a wood box cutlery carrier, patio furniture and plants will be available, as well as a wide range of metal art and architectural items.
Highlights include: Two tooled copper and metal firescreens, two exotic and unusual torchiere lamps, a mammoth folding screen, desk top accessories in copper and mixed metals, light fixtures, and a one-of-a-kind box that was the prototype for others to come.
A large basket from the Congo, Thai headdress, child size decorative horse figure, an English antique tea caddy, side table, chest, Welsh cupboard, chairs, large round oak table, smaller round oak table, reflectory table, Meissen, English sterling tea service and flatware, interesting textiles and books, beautiful black pottery from Oaxaca, Talavera pottery, Finnish Arabia pottery, vintage blown glass stemware in amber, turquoise, green, cobalt blue, and amethyst.
Mexican folk art by Manuel Jimenez (he is credited with being the founder of this popular art form), Antonio Mandarin, and others is available.
Rugs, French armoire, one antique drafting table, one newer drafting table, Isaac Maxwell's desk, tall round pub type table, two metal "ice cream" style bar stools, beautiful antique Jones CS 26451 sewing machine in stand (working condition), a piano that needs TLC or would be great turned into a desk, vintage cameras, CDs, record albums, and videos.
