     We have a treat for you this Labor Day weekend.  Saturday and Sunday you can come, bring family/friends/neighbors with you, to a beautiful house on a beautiful lot to see and purchase many items purchased while living in Japan, also American antique furniture, and some modern furniture. The owners are downsizing and have decided to part with MANY Asian items they had collected and  kept for decades in storage.  These are now displayed throughout the house.

     Highlights of the Asian items are an antique 1860s Korean cabinet, 2 small Japanese cabinets, Japanese basket, ikebana containers, MANY Japanese eating utensils (bowls, plates, chopsticks, chopstick rests), obis, embroidered silks, an 18" blue-on-white charger, "Hiejinja" print by Yoshida, an ink handprint of the famous sumo wrestler Kunishiki, and a limited edition print of the kabuki actor Kurumahiki Umemaru.  Many Asian wood stands are available to display miniatures.  Special among the many colors of porcelains are 2 green "cristaline" plates.

     You will find the good quality costume jewelry and other small items displayed in 2 showcases among handmade rugs on the floors.  A bin of silk scarves awaits you as well as a repro double-font student lamp, fine crystal goblets and MANY colorful table linen sets.  In the family room is a largely goldtone 4-panel screen with peacock, among decorator pillows and baskets with silk flowers.  Also available are new formerly expensive men's neckties, souvenirs of European travel, and home decorator items.

      You will discover American antique chests of drawers and tables both in the family room and in the master bedroom, along with a burgundy upholstered stool beside an antique caned armchair.  A hanging Japanese screen is displayed over the double bed there.  Other bedrooms have beds, desks, chairs, seats, and more framed prints.  Most of the framed prints are displayed in the shelves of a large wall unit in the downstairs family room.

     The two-tier deck off the kitchen offers you patio furniture and garden ornaments, while the 2-car garage has MANY plastic shelf units for sale along with folding aluminum ladder and yard tools.  Please bring empty canvas satchels and empty boxes with you.  Enjoy this free entertainment over the 3-day weekend.
