This Mediterranean architectural fantasy, designed by William Lawrence Bottomley, recalls Italian and Spanish prototypes. Visitors are immediately transported to other places, other centuries. While the interior resembles a splendid stage set, what is important for our purposes is that the furnishings and collections we are offering are equal in panache to the house itself.  We are honored to be hosting this fabulous sale.

 

Among our Gilded Era treasures are an extravagant coin silver fish service for 12, an extraordinary Limoges china fish service, 11 pcs., with an unusual William Morris influenced border, and a pair of Grand Tour Italian landscapes in wonderful Rococo frames from the estate of Hamilton Fish.  Mr. Fish was Governor of New York, senator, and Secretary of State under Ulysses S. Grant.  Mr. and Mrs. Fish were famous for the luxurious furnishings of their lavish New York mansion.

The above descriptions are not complete.  Our offerings at this sale are varied and extensive.  Smalls are still being sorted, but include a Herend cobra and a Tiffany clock. Recent discoveries include an African beaded hanging and a Red Adair Co. Fire suit and cap.
