If we were seeking a sale that would be one of the most memorable we have ever offered, this would be it:

An Outstanding Personal Collection of American Antiques, Primitives and Decorative Arts Treasures,

in a house full of carefully selected items gathered back East, down South and Abroad.

Our Client was not just a collector, she was a Connoisseur, one who studied widely and chose well.

The list is long: antique furniture from the East Coast: a fine corner cupboard, bean counter,

beautiful convertible dining/banquet table with set of 8 chairs, a wonderful old settle, rare revolving hardware cabinet,

graceful inlaid settee, petite single-door Danish rustic pine cabinet, carpenter's tool chest with drawers,

grain painted blanket chest, fine curlicue wicker chair and footstool, handsome poplar jelly cupboard,

cherry wardrobe, a carved mahogany dropleaf desk, Eastlake cupboard, an unusual reading/writing rocking chair,

ball-and-stick hat rack, a Victorian brass and iron bed to match the one made famous in "16 Candles", a

long with other fine examples of antique cupboards, tables and chairs. Architectural components

including two handmade antique fireplace surrounds with mantels.

Quality contemporary pieces: poster beds, pair of damask down loveseats, classic inlaid Henredon sideboard,

Chinese Chippendale-style display cabinet, accent tables and small chests, a leather library sofa,

artist-made live-edge coffee table table, and an impressive Albright and Zimmerman pier mirror, to name a few.

Clocks, both tall and shelf. Outstanding lighting: a Murano chandelier, old country store oil lamp,

rare vintage floor and table lamps, quality Quoizel repro leaded shade examples,

Artwork: antique NW mountain paintings and American portraits, a fine seascape, handpainted miniature portraits,

framed vintage magazine art, important handturned specimen wood and turquoise vase by Robert Cherry,

a handpainted Continental-style scenic screen, and a large custom-made leaded glass panel,

plus many other original pieces in all media.

Folk art: handpainted game boards, authentic Pennsylvania redware pottery and handpainted pantry box,

a nested set of Shaker boxes, stoneware and salt glaze jugs and crocks, yellowware, true Pennsylvania Dutch frakturs,

handcarved butter molds, plus primitives in tin, wrought iron and wood incl. cooking implements.

Old tins in all shapes and sizes, a rarely-seen large countertop Enterprise coffee grinder with original paint,

old advertising match safes, and a unique painted tailor's sign.

Wonderful smalls: sterling objets de vertu, unusual watch stands, sewing implements, jewelry, plus old boxes of every stripe:

Russian lacquer, inlaid wood, spice, salt, snuff and more.

Ethnographic art, from vintage Native American baskets to carved masks, old framed beaded tomahawk, moccasins, carvings, and other finds from many Continents and Cultures.

The sale will run for at least two weekends starting Saturday, April 20, with timed and limited entry.

Starting at 12 noon on Saturday, April 13, a live link to our Square Store will appear on this page.

you will want to join, as we are offering appointments first to our subscribers before advertising to the general public.
