If there were a 6th Star Rating available here, that's what I'd have given Richard and his crew! My mother recently grudgingly entered assisted living and I was moving forward with executing an estate sale of per personal belongings and the contents of her home. Given the smaller amount of contents and what I considered to be the rather ample %'s apparently rather normal and usual in the Estate Sale industry, I was MORE than anxious about the prospects for my mom's belongings bringing her nothing from the sale. Richard and his crew prepared the home beautifully, promoted the sale superbly, marketed the items for sale on-site with skill and accuracy, and in general brought my mom a decent amount of money at the end of the week. Richard and his Smart Choice team took care of my mother's estate for me and I can't express enough what an outstanding job they did. They took junk I thought was trash and made it so visually pleasing I considered keeping it! Almost everything went. But in addition to it being a good company, it's a company with a heart. They took a great burden off my shoulders after my mother's passing when I was feeling sad, overwhelmed, and was on a time constraint, and they took the reins and I didn't have to do a thing. They made me a profit where I didn't see how that was possible, and paid me cash. They also handled the FEW leftovers and had them donated for me. This is a good, honest company, Richard and his people are kind-hearted, hard working folks, and I couldn't speak more highly of them. We knew nothing of estate sales. Packing up a parent to live in a home is difficult enough. Going through memories and sorting those to keep isn't fun, plus we were from out of state. Richard and his crew came in to the rescue. The sale was held in mid August. We were home after sorting through what needed to be saved. We were told by the neighbors that the sale was VERY well organized and items were displayed very nicely. Richard kept us well informed and forwarded the proceeds promptly. Richard handled my mom's estate sale when she moved across country. He and his crew were very easy to work with and accommodating to our schedule as we were not able to leave house before they began set up so they started in garage. The items were well organized and well displayed for sale. He must have publicized sale well as neighbors reported there was a good turnout on multiple days. He priced items well so that the sale netted more than expected but discounts on following days ensured that there was not a lot of items left over. Richard and team were exceptional. I interviewed several estate sales companies in the Sun City West area and his approach to estate sales is rock solid. Richard is very up-front, honest, and knows his market and pricing. I manage my parents estate from Missouri so coordinating with him once I was back in MO was a breeze. He kept me up to date and followed up after the sale to get everything in order for my parents to receive their sale proceeds. If I had another set of parents, I'd hire him and his team again.

We contacted Richard Smart at the recommendation of a family friend who conducted estate sales in Sun City, AZ for many years. We needed to sell everything in my father's house, but neither my father nor I were able to travel to AZ. Richard responded to our all of our phone calls and emails very promptly throughout the entire process. I was very comfortable entrusting him with the sale. I have known Richard & Lisa of Smart Choice for over 5 years and highly recommend their service. Winter visitors who are no longer coming back have used their company and have been very pleased with what they have done for them as they go above and beyond from selling part bottles of toiletries to vehicles. I just had some clients who had to leave back to Canada for health reasons and they left everything in the capable hands of Richard & Lisa and I for one was so pleased with what they had to do to get ready for the sale. On a recent visit to AZ, we went to several estate sales. The sale that was clearly the best was the one operated by Smart Choice. The items were displayed in an organized fashion, and the prices were clearly marked and very reasonable. The other sales we attended seemed haphazard by comparison. I hired Richard Smart, Smart Choice Estate Sales to clean out my mothers home in preparation for the house to be sold. Richard and his crew worked tirelessly over the term of a full week to remove the remnants of her belongings and to remove many toxic items from the garage. Richard and his crew were very careful with the remainder of my mothers belongings. They uncovered four boxes of important documents, genealogical evidence and personal family photos during their work. These are items I had no idea were still in the house. The cost of his services were very reasonable. This is a task I could not have accomplished without his help. Smart Choice did a superb job in my mother’s estate sale. They organized all of her items by categories and displayed all her items on tables or racks. They spent time verifying prices to have an extremely successful sale. They covered the carpets, donated some unsold items to charities, made sure the home was emptied and all trash was collected.
