Hello, Let me introduce myself. My name is Ken and my partner and wife is Lynn. That is where we came up with Ken & Lynn’s Antiques & Estate Sale Services. We have been in the antiques and collectibles business since 1976. We added the estate sale part of our business in 2004 when asked by some Hollywood people to do a sale and got hooked ever since. We enjoy helping people in time of need. We are properly licensed and bonded, bond number 1000789326.
Let me explain how our service works. First of all, we ask for no monies up front, everything comes from the proceeds of the sale. The client calls our service and we set up an appointment to come to your home or site of the sale. We do a complete survey of the site and provide insight whether it is beneficial to have a sale or to donate to your local charity. This part of the service is also free. We will try to provide an rough estimate of what the estate could expect if the sale takes place.
The acceptance of a sale by my service is a two way street, not only do you have to like us and feel safe with us, we have to do the same with you. If and when we agree that a sale needs to take place, we then get down to business and begin a planning stage.
The fees for our service are set up as follows: We work strictly for commission. Our commission ranges depending on the amount of work required to get the sale set up. We also have a minimum charge for conducting a sale. The reason for this minimum is I have to pay a crew to work your sale and my staff is dependable so I must make sure they are paid. Extreme high end items are negotiated at a different commission to get the estate as much money as possible.
We require the estate to pay for the following expenses: Dumpster (if required), Advertising and a bond fee if a higher insurance amount is required. I pay for all labor to conduct the sale. The owner of the property is not required to be on site at any time either for the sale or set up.
We provide complete set up, and pricing of every item on the property. We research and appraise high end items to make sure the estate is getting its fair share of revenue for an item. We wash and clean items as necessary to provide for a presentable sale. We have an extensive mailing list and people have told us our sales are fun to attend!
Upon completion of the sale, my service will provide a complete and detailed statement of every item sold and for how much within 5 days after completion of the sale. We will also provide complete removal service for any left over items and also provide for any donations the estate deems necessary.
We provide a complete clean up as part of our service and make the property presentable for occupancy or for sale while the estate sits back and enjoys the comfort of using my service.
Also, if you are calling from or live out of state, we can do your sale for you by signing a contract and the estate providing us with a key and we will do all the rest.
