FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Question: How do I choose an estate sale company? There are so many!
Answer: Middle Tennessee is fortunate to have several highly qualified estate sale professionals, most providing similar basic services. You'll want to pick a company who specializes in the areas important to you. Here are a few points we consider important:
1. Does the company pay their expenses "off the top", then pay you from what's left? This system could leave you with a very small payout. FTES operates on strict commission. Our expenses and profits come out of our commission, not your proceeds. We only make money when you do!
2. Is the company a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau? FTES is one of a few middle Tennessee estate sale providers with this distinction.
3. Does the company conduct estate sales as a hobby or sideline, or are they a fulltime estate sale provider? FTES is in it's fifth year and currently conducts 30-40 sales per year. This is our only business!
Question: Should I wait until later to have my sale?
Answer: Estate sales can be held at any time of year. You may want to avoid major holidays and be aware of possible bad weather, but people love to attend estate sales all year long. In fact, some sales in the winter are even better attended because there are fewer sales to choose from. Don't hesitate to consult with us on your sale now.
Question: How do I know if we have enough stuff (or the right kind of stuff) for an estate sale?
Answer: This is a common concern. No estate is too big, of course, but many wonder if their estate is big enough or good enough to bother with a sale.
Many families find themselves responsible for liquidating the significant lifetime accumulations of parents or grandparents. As long as the estate includes most of the person's belongings and has a good variety of sellable items, Family Tree Estate Sales can usually conduct a successful and profitable sale.
