Sale Description:
Nice estate sale near Peabody & Willett.
The living room features a gorgeous 8.5' tall by 10' wide custom made entertainment center, an elegant pink wool rug, a Hardeman piano, an Ingraham marble mantel clock, a victorian sofa, two very ornate & beautiful chairs (one being a rocker) and a Pioneer stereo system as well as a nice selection of books, and other items. The nicest selection of books includes a 3 volume leather set from 1865 of the life of Shakespeare by Charles Knight, which are in excellent condition for their age.
The dining room features a spectacular Pennsylvania House Queen Anne cherry dining room set including a table with leaves & pads, 6 chairs (2 armed) and a matching china cabinet. We also have several original Victorian marble- top pieces, a Reed & Barton sterling silver flatware set for 8 (57 pieces in all), a hand-made wooden sailboat built to scale, and various smalls featuring Waterford, Limoges, crystal and other nice items.
The kitchen & pantry areas (which I will picture Thursday evening) feature a washer/dryer, a refrigerator, small appliances, an Ethan Allen farm table & chairs, lots of cookware, glassware, everyday ware, etc. Some of the brand names on the everyday is Ralph Lauren, Pottery Barn, Sasaki, etc.
As you head upstairs, you will notice an 1800s drop-leaf pedastal table that will require a momentary stare; it is exceptionally nice. As you reach the top of the stairs, you will be enlightened again by an antique chest; there is so much burl in the wood, you might get dizzy.
In one bedroom, you will admire a very rare Jennie Lind queen size bed; this is the real deal, folks...not a repop. It IS the best I have ever seen. We also have a nice swinging crib, an antique doll manger and other items.
The master bedroom features an extraordinary queen size rice bed, over 400 hardback books, most with dust jackets & in new condition of all of the top, well-known writers from the past 25 years. My client paid $30+ a piece for most of these. We also have a varied selection of videos, a Sole F63 treadmill, some bedroom furniture, etc.
The other bedroom features a full size iron bed, a crib, some furniture, etc. We also have a multi-color bunk bed set which is pictured but unassembled.
Outside is good, too! We have a rattan patio set, lots of good planters & pots, a pair of nice wrought iron chaises, a hammock, and other various yard art pieces.
This is an awesome midtown sale worth coming to see.
