This maquette or miniature statue is cast in resin and mounted on a steel plate base. It is a miniature version of the life size bronze statue that is located at Wildlife Prairie State Park outside Peoria Illinois. The statue was commissioned by the parks founder, the late Bill Rutherford, to honor the dogs and their soldier handlers that faithfully served their country during the Vietnam conflict or war. The statue was created by Lake Forest artist Erin Mallon. Proceeds from the sale of these statues go to Wildlife Prairie State park. There are several available. They measure @ 12" tall and are mounted on a 6" x 8" steel plate base.
