DuMouchelle’s auction previews are conducted at the gallery for one full week prior to the sale, including a late evening preview on the Wednesday prior to auction until 8:30 p.m. Condition Reports are available to those who cannot view items in person. DuMouchelle’s auction requires no entry fee and free valet parking is available to those attending. Doors open at 5:30 pm on Friday, 10am on Saturday and at 11am on Sunday. Paddle bidding at the auction allows for the most flexibility. But if you’re unable to attend, then phone and absentee bidding services are available - as well as internet bidding via www.liveauctioneers.com. DuMouchelles accepts wire transfers, checks, cash, Mastercard, Visa and Discover card (amount upon approval). A buyer’s premium of 20% is added to each lot purchased (23% when bidding via internet on Live Auctioneers). Please note also that All Sales Are Final. So do take time for previewing or obtaining a condition report. If you have a sales tax exemption certificate, please provide it ahead of time. Should you need to have an item shipped, either locally or out-of state, DuMouchelles can provide you with names of reputable delivery companies.

September’s evening sale features numerous attractive Decorative Objects beginning with a beautiful Enameled Porcelain Three Piece Clock & Garniture Set by L. Marti & Cie., a pair of Art Nouveau Gilt Candelabra, and Coalport Enameled Porcelain “Salopian” Flasks, c. 1870 to 1880.  An interesting variety of Fine Art can be found on Friday evening from a collection of WWI & WWII Recruitment and Propaganda Posters, including images by Howard Chandler Christy (American, 1873-1952), to a gorgeous Oil on Board titled “Skyline Highlands” by Arthur Hill Gilbert (American, 1894-1970).  A variety of rugs and carpets are being offered, which is highlighted by an Alaskan Grizzly Bear Full Skin Rug from the late 20th century, as well as over 100 lots of Fine and Costume jewelry.

The Saturday auction opens with a lovely selection of antique French glass and bronze decorative arts, highlights of which include a Daum cameo glass syrup pitcher with silver mounts, a Galle cameo vase, quaint boxes, and a pair of champlevé tazze by Ferdinand Barbedienne.  The sale continues with a Georgian silver six-piece tea service with impressive eagle adornment, a Gorham tray presented to J. Edward Lundy of Ford Motor Co., and other services by Reed & Barton and Gorham; antique carved marble sculptures and lamps, including those by Emil Rizec, Rudolf Kaesbach, and Pietro Bazzanti; a Sevres Marie Antoinette portrait urn with bronze mounts; English and French furnishings such as an inlaid bombe desk, marble-top commodes, vitrines and settees, as well as a circa 1800 Chinese lacquer sewing table, and English telescope by Broadhurst, Clarkson & Co.; Gorham ‘Chantilly’ and International ‘Royal Danish’ sterling flatware sets; Steuben glass and Baccarat crystal; fine jewelry, including a vintage Vacheron & Constantin 18kt gold gentleman’s wristwatch and a Tiffany & Co. diamond and platinum wedding set; as well as a variety of oriental rugs from semi antique to modern.

Furniture highlights include:  an Irish Georgian style banquet table, Chinese Chippendale style dining chairs, a Georgian breakfront, L 147”, French black lacquer dining set, a Baldwin grand piano, Renaissance Revival bookcase, H 11’ 7”, a 95” long mahogany and burl walnut marquetry bar and a Louis Phillipe 19th c. buffet.
