Stevens Auction Company is pleased to announce the commission to offer at absolute public auction the estate of the late Mr. Elbert L. “Bud” Harrison. Until his death, Mr. Harrison resided in the historic Keyes-Harrison Home in Sheffield, Alabama, the first permanent residence in the historic city. Mr. Harrison was a knowledgeable antique collector and lover of fine collectibles, as is evidenced by the volume of antiques in his home.
Among the highlights of the auction are: (1) a rare, pair of 19th Century, English Regency Knife Boxes; (2) a Federal, Philadelphia-made, Stenciled Work Table; (3) an early Victorian, Acanthus-carved, Solid Mahogany, Quarter Tester Bed, ca. 1845; (4) a Federal, Four Poster, Mahogany Queen-sized Bed with acanthus-carved & twisted columns; (5) a 24in., Alabama Baby Doll made in Roanoke, AL by Ms. Ella Smith and (6) a set of 6, 19th Century, Mahogany, Chippendale Dining Chairs with ball & claw feet. Additionally, bidders will find hundreds of sterling and silver-plate pieces as well as signed works of art, hand-made quilts, fur coats, china, porcelains, and hundreds upon hundreds of rare collectibles.
