Abstract LARGE Painting on Canvas by Charleston Artist Caryn Smith. After college at Ole Miss and Ray College of Design in Chicago, she enjoyed a career as a residential interior designer for 12 years before devoting herself to painting full time. Her clients always requested a painting incorporated in her designs. She has studied with many notable artists such as John Doyle, Rhett Thurman, Camille Przwodik, Rick Nelson, Emmy Bronson, and Billy O'Donnell. Her work is in many private collections throughout The United States, Canada, France, and Japan, has been on the sets of locally filmed shows such as Army Wives, Identity, on the upcoming show South of Hell, and was mentioned in the New York Times best seller Dorothy Benton Frank's novel "Return to Sullivans Island". Her work can currently be seen by appointment at her home studio on George St downtown near the Spoleto office.
