Artist Bio: Rodee Hansen lived most of her adult life on Long Island until moving to North Berwick, Maine in 2019. She was an accomplished visual artist who studied with many acclaimed artists on Long Island, including Irene Aunio, Ward Hooper, and Bonnie Gardner. Rodee enjoyed exploring a wide range of materials and styles, though her most prolific work was in pastels and watercolors. She said of her art that it “reflects emotional, meaningful moments in her life and/or glimpses of beauty seen somewhere that were tucked away for a while until they were ready to be born again with brush, color and paper.” Rodee’s water colors, pastels, collages, and hand crafted pressed flower greeting cards continue to be exhibited and sold on Long Island and throughout the Northeast.
