John Piet and Christine Piet,
well known in the region’s art community as an artistic couple, each dedicated artists in their individual rights.
John Piet was a successful sculptor, ceramicist, artist, professor and expert on Mayan and Mexican culture and folk art. Christine Piet was a life-long painter and artists in multiple media. Together they traveled the world in pursuit of the arts and brought back to their Southfield home the collected art and sculptural works of their fellow artists as well as fine art books, folk art, modern objects and decorative arts.

Contents of the home & sculpture studio, furnishings, works of John Piet & Christine Piet, and fine art by other artists including
sculptures, drawings, paintings, ceramics and more.
Biographical Information about the Artists:
Mr. Piet was a graduate of Society of Arts and Crafts (BFA) (now known as The Center for Creative Studies), and Wayne State University (MFA). John Piet was a professor at Macomb Community College. His sculptures can be found in Detroit (4 large commissions), Brighton, Southfield, Sterling Heights, and other locations. His works are in the collections of Oakland University, Macomb Community College and other institutions. (A large commission for K-mart Corporation has since changed hands.)
Christine Piet was a graduate of Wayne State University and College for Creative Studies.
Selected works of Artists included: John Carroll, 1936 studies for the ceiling of American Galleries, The Detroit Institute of Arts
Louis Redstone, Gary Eleinko, Jay Holland, Brian Kreemer, Robert Sestok, John Muirhead, R.B.A., R.W.S. - Impressionist Landscape Artist who studied with Monet and Pissaro, Jack Faxon, Paul Schwartz, Susie Raisig, Carol Grant, Steve Faust, Robert Piepenberg, James Atkinson ...and many more.
Fine Art Book Collection includes:
Andy Warhol limited edition box/assemblage, Poetry by Allan Ginsberg, Henry Moore monograph, Diego Rivera, Edvard Munch, Salvador Dali, Kathe Kollwitz ...and many more.
Household Items include:
Vintage jewelry, 2 grandfather clocks, MCM lamps, china, pottery, glassware, art supplies, vintage Christmas, furniture, clothing and textiles. John Piet's sculpting studio located on the large property includes welding supplies, vices, tools and equipment.
