The vast majority of this uncatalogued collection consists of great non-fiction works, focusing mainly on American history, and the Old West. Specific works on Frank and Jesse James, Jim Bridger, Dalton Gang, Coronando’s children, Billy the Kid. Much Civil War material, local and regional history and lore, including the 1903 Flood.

There is also a considerable amount of fiction in the collection, including Sherlock Holmes (Doyle), plus a variety of Zane Grey, Victor Hugo, Washington Irving.
