Terms
Maintenance of Payment Information:
In order to place a bid, you must have valid payment information stored in your profile.
By providing your payment information to Caring Transitions (CTBids), you irrevocably authorize CTBids to charge your primary card on file for the total purchase amount of any winning bid plus any fees associated with the sale of the item, including but not limited to taxes, shipping, and handling fees.
You also agree and acknowledge that you will maintain valid payment information within your user profile so long as you maintain an account with CTBids and that you are authorized to use the designated payment method. CTBids reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to cancel listings or bids, or to suspend bidding privileges of any user not maintaining valid payment information.
If your payment method fails or your account is past due, we may collect amounts owed by charging other payment methods on file with us, and/or retain collection agencies and legal counsel. In addition, you may be subject to late fees and interest at our discretion which will not exceed the maximum amount permitted by applicable law.
Bidding:
PLACING A BID IS AN AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE. If you are the winning bidder, you are committed to purchasing and picking up your item(s) or making shipping/delivery arrangements. Please do not bid if you do not plan to purchase. If you bid, you MUST be available, or arrange for, the pickup of your purchases on the scheduled pickup date at the scheduled pickup time, unless you have made prior shipping/delivery arrangements.
Listings times have a soft close. Extra time may be added to ending times to allow bidders more time to win. This will give you time to receive an outbid notification and place a higher bid and mimics what happens in a live auction where the auctioneer asks for any last bids before making the sale.
Proxy bidding, soft close, and other general info is explained HERE. Note that proxy bidding is disabled on items that have not met any designated reserve price.
A Buyer’s Premium (usually 15%) will be added to the final bid amount when invoiced.
Payment:
The payment method on file in your account will be charged after the conclusion of the sale for any items you have won. Receipts are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed and payment is secured. All invoices under five thousand dollars ($5,000) will be auto charged to the primary card on file in your user profile for the total amount. Purchases over five thousand dollars ($5,000) will be charged 10% of the invoice total; remaining payment for those invoices must be handled between you and the seller outside of the CTBids platform. All invoices must be paid in full before receiving a receipt for items won.
If delivery or shipping is offered by seller, then you must select your desired item receipt method on the receipt upon the close of the sale. If shipping or delivery is selected, a shipping or delivery invoice will be created with fees outlined within the auction's Terms & Conditions. A shipping or delivery invoice must be paid before receiving items. If you do not elect a fulfillment method and do not pick the item(s) up during the scheduled pickup time outlined on the auction's Terms & Conditions or your receipt, CTBids reserves the right to charge your payment method on file for the greater of the total purchase price of the item plus any applicable handling and shipping charges and may ship the item to your address of record, or may a $40.00 restocking fee.
You hereby expressly grant CTBids the right to hold a winning item until confirmation of cleared funds has been received by CTBids.
Winning bidders with questions on payment should reference the Knowledge Base or contact the seller.
If payment from you is not secured by the payment deadline, your items may be forfeited & could be resold to the next highest bidder. Additionally, your bidding privileges may be revoked.
Pickup:
The exact address of the scheduled pickup will be on your receipt which e-mailed after the auction closes, and may also be accessed through your CTBids user account.
You must bring all materials, tools, equipment, and help necessary to pack and load purchases; STAFF IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO ASSIST. Items may be in garages, up or down stairs, in basements, in attics, or in outbuildings – plan accordingly!
If you are not prepared to remove your items from the pickup location safely and efficiently, you will be asked to return at a later date (if available) and will be assessed a $25 “rescheduled pickup” fee.
Local pickup is HIGHLY preferred, but shipping is available on some items. Generally, CTBids/Caring Transitions of Kanawha Valley ships via USPS flat-rate priority mail. A $15 handling charge will be charged for the first box shipped to you, with an additional $ charged for each additional box. Handling charges will be higher for items that require greater-than-usual care in packaging and shipping services. CTBids reserves the right to ship via other method, and we will attempt to satisfy any reasonable request for an alternative shipping method by a winning bidder. CTBids also reserves the right to verify the identity and address prior to shipping for any winning bidder.
Other Terms:
Items are sold as-is, where-is with NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS - all sales are final. Placing a bid is an agreement to purchase, and a winning bid is a contract between you and the seller.
We have made every effort to describe items as accurately as possible, and while we try to list all flaws, we cannot guarantee such. Expect normal signs of wear associated with antique, vintage, and used items. Caring Transitions does not guarantee the working order of any clock, watch, electronic, or mechanical device. Dimensions given may be approximate.
All items not retrieved during the scheduled pickup time will be considered abandoned with no refund given unless prior arrangement is made. Unless prior agreement has been made, all items in a lot must be removed from the pickup location during the scheduled pickup time, or the buyer may have his/her bidding account suspended. Failure to make payment by the payment deadline, or failure to pickup/arrange delivery or shipment of items may result in bidder account suspension.
