Thatcher Estate Sales has been operating in Shreveport and the surrounding area for close to 25 years. The company was started by the late Pat Thatcher and is now run by her daughter Melody Kiper, who joined the business in 2006.
We offer a variety of services including estate sales, moving/downsizing sales, online sales, appraisals, professional organizing, and consignments. With the many changes to the market since the beginning of Covid-19 we have learned to adapt and think outside the box. No two sales are the same, let us create a solution tailored to your needs.

Melody Kiper and Thatcher Estate Sales are the best! After my husband died, I never thought I could get out from under all of his collections and memorabilia that he had been saving most of his life. It was hard enough to think about downsizing and selling my house but tackling all of the stuff was completely overwhelming. Melody’s knowledge and experience, attention to detail, and care for me and my personal situation, combined with her personal relationships with experts and serious collectors and her large customer database were key to the success of those sales. Melody and her staff did an excellent job on the estate sale for my father. It was rather complicated because she had to price items first for the family and then for the public sale.
They were knowledgeable, calling on professionals in areas outside her expertise as for particularly valuable antiques or Asian art. They were always courteous and accommodating, making every effort to make it as stress-free for my family as possible.
