This weekend in Glen Iris we have a GREAT sale from the estate of the very funky, Miss Punky. Plenty of wonderful stuff and a digger’s paradise upstairs. Took a long time to set it up, you’re gonna like this one!

The home of Birmingham muse Punky Burwinkle, daughter of Sculptor / Artist A. Wolfe Anderson. Most all the artwork in the house are from the collection of the family and have never been offered for sale. Over 20 Sculptures by A. Wolfe Davidson (1903-1981) Creator of the Clemson Tiger, Sculptures of Josiah Crudup Pres. Brenau College. Eugene Cook GA Attorney General, Richard Irvine Manning Gov. SC and many others

"Abe Wolfe Davidson was a Russian Jewish artist who immigrated to the South in 1922. He created public and private sculpture and encouraged artistic culture in the region. Davidson wrote an autobiography prior to passing away in 1981 and his daughters donated the unpublished memoir to the Clemson Special Collections. He provides an insider’s perspective to artistic culture in the region during the first half of the twentieth century. His memoir also describes life in the Jewish Pale of Settlement and the immigrant experience in the American South."
