Wiregrass Estate Sales is honored to have been chosen to liquidate the estate of Charles and Mary Maddox. Mr. Maddox was a CPA and avid golfer. His wife Mary was a homemaker.
This is a large house (4500 sq. ft.), filled with great stuff.

UPDATE 8.24.11: We have been working on this estate for several days now. We have processed several rooms, but we still have 5 bedrooms, a den, storage closets, a HUGE gameroom, outdoor buildings, and a kitchen to sort through. The quality of the items in this estate are very good. Here are a few of the things that we have found so far: pair of brass lamps, pair of endtables/nightstands, like new long sofa reupholstered in a beautiful Scalamandre fabric, freshly upholstered neutral side chair, several Persian rugs, AWESOME set of 4 vintage Oriental framed art pieces (similar to a tall screen), faux bamboo chest/secretary, Oriental ceramics and art, cup and saucer collection, footstool, slag base floor lamp, small iron and marble eterge, mahogany what not shelf, mahogany 2 tier side table, bookcase, tons of figurines and bells (Fenton, Gorham, Delft, Enesco, Goebel, Andrea, English bone china, Occupied Japan, Precious Moments, Belleek, Japan, etc.), graduated set of Florentine platters, yellow spindle back chair, botanical prints, Asian style wall clock, VERY NICE BIG vintage world globe bar on barley twist base (purchased in Italy in 1963), original paintings (including a large landscape possibly by Bob Ross), old Victrola, lamps, crystal candleholder, Blue Boy brass plaque, mahogany 1940s china cabinet, Boehm and Lenox collector plates, Goebel Eagle figurine, glass bluebirds, other bird figurines, several pieces of Wedgwood Jasperware, tons and tons of nice silverplate, statue of little girl, greenery, brass candelabra, nice large brass figural swan punch bowl set, EXCEPTIONAL vintage Boulle clock on pedestal (purchased in Italy in 1963), large display cabinet with glass all around, Hoffbauer crystal with birds, lots of cloissone, tufted parlor chair, WONDERFUL vintage Morbier wall clock (purchased in Italy in 1963), crystal figurines (including Swarovski, Lalique, Waterford), painted biscuit barrel, toby jug, RARE old Sevres handpainted dish with courting couple, several LARGE vintage Hummel figurines, Hummel stemware, Nippon chocolate set, several pieces of Blue Caprice elegant glassware, lots of floral china, Lenox Holiday dinnerware and accessories, HUGE set of Noritake china (features a single large purple orchid on each piece), pressed glass, antique silverplate tea set with tray, alabaster fruit, Franciscan Coronado dinnerware, Bavarian fruit plate set, lovely pair of gold encrusted Bavarian demitasse cup/saucer sets, 2 large vintage brass samovars, unique pair of mod girl prints, wall plaques, CUTE handpainted vintage pie safe with Beatrix Potter theme, teapots, painted china, beautiful asparagus serving set, stools, ice cream parlor set, salt and pepper shakers, cookware, microwave, small appliances, cast iron, EAPC star of david, Corning and Corelle, crystal stemware, set of newer Christmas china, HUGE set of Noritake china (each piece with multiple purple orchids around rim), carnival glass grape pitcher, ice buckets, seriously HUGE collection of Blue Willow china (various makers), cookie jars, misc. kitchen glassware, egg plate collection, Westmoreland beaded milk glass fruit plates, several nativity sets, churn, crock pitcher, copper firewood keeper, primitive chair, Suzuki GS 750 motorcycle (last ran in 2004, so being sold as is CHEAP!), THE LAST FEW PHOTOS ARE OF THE ROOMS THAT WE HAVE NOT CONQUERED YET!
UPDATE 8.27.11: just unpacked about 8 boxes of glassware. WOW!! There is a HUGE collection of Lancaster JUBILEE elegant depression glass, in the wonderful YELLOW or TOPAZ color. There are about 180 pieces, a massive showing when grouped together. About 80% of the pieces are Lancaster Jubilee, while the other 20% are very close look-a-likes. We also unpacked about 40 pieces of mid-century glassware in Capri Blue, depression glass pairs of candleholders and salt and pepper shakers, pressed glass, Harlequin (like Fiesta) salt and pepper shakers, green depression cocktail shaker, 20+ pieces of amber elegant glassware (probably Cambridge), a large pair of purple carnival glass GRAPE salt and pepper shakers, etc.
UPDATE 8.28.11: To answer the most common emails and phone calls that we are recieving:
*the Boulle clock and stand are both in very good to excellent condition, and the clock does run and keep accurate time, price is $1800.
*the Morbier clock is in very good to excellent condition, it does run and keep accurate time, price is $1500.
*the set of Lancaster Jubilee glassware will be sold as a set, about 180 pieces, books around $5000, price is $1500 for the set. Most of the pieces are Jubilee. Some are Lancaster blanks or similar blanks with a slightly different flower, and there are a few pieces that are Lancaster blanks with no flowers. Priced as a set per the families request.
***AS WITH ALL OF MY SALES, WE DO NOT SELL ANYTHING EARLY!!! IT IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED, DOORS OPEN AT 8AM SHARP, NOT A MINUTE EARLIER!
UPDATE 9.2.11: Added 90+ pictures today. We have finished setting up the inside of the house. We still have a outside storage room, a storage building (with outdoor items), and a greenhouse to go through. Here are some of the latest things that we have uncovered: lots of bedroom furniture (from traditional to French Provincial), upholstered nursery rocker, brass bed, linens, sheets, towels, NICE CLOTHING (all top name brands including mens, womens and teens ((brands like Hollister, Abercrombie, Polo, Columbia, etc.))), lot of shoes (nice designer brands, some look to have been never worn), large selection of camo hunting clothing and boots, sports shoes, large variety of blue and white china, red and white transferware, lots of cookbooks, more games, lots of Christmas items, lots of luggage (including a HUGE set of pale blue Diane von Furstenberg), movies, records, albums, 8 tracks, cassettes, another nice old brass samovar, chalkboard, more upholstered chairs, primitive chest, lots of Easter decor, commemorative Coca Cola bottles (including Bear Bryant), vintage clothing gloves and hats, nice three piece bookcase/desk, HUGE doll collection (mostly from the 1960s and 1970s (including lots of Barbies and clothing, Vogue Ginny, Holly Hobbie, Madam Alexander, Beanie Babies, etc.), fur collars, several laptop computers, heavy solid wood office desk, bookshelves, stamps, coins, computer hutch, portable sewing machine, Florida lottery sign, crib, Brunswick snooker table, lots and lots of golf items (including Calloway and Ping clubs, hundreds of balls, and two brand new pairs of golf shoes size 10.5), tools, fishing items, collector plate collection, gas dryer, glider swing, rolls of designer fabrics, University of Alabama ephemera, toys, bar stools, and tons of box lots!!!
UPDATE 9.14.11: Just added about 30 more pictures of the garage items. Lots of neat stuff outside! Here are some of the things that we found: gas grill, flower pots, plant stands, trellis, birdbaths, bicycles, lawn cart, 2 lawn mowers, a tiller, an edger, ladders, tools, misc. garden items. ***Family added another set of golf clubs (Calloway irons and drivers, left handed), and a nice early American style dining table and 4 chairs.
