Description & Details
An artist and a congressman! Jack and Jolane Edwards' interest in art and design predate his twenty-years in Congress. And, unless you have been invited to their home...it will be a treat to learn that Jolane was a prodigious connoisseur, talented sculptor and painter. This home is filled with formal antiques, Chinese porcelain, contemporary Impressionist paintings and bronze sculpture by many of the South's most important figures. Barbara Casey, Nall, Frank Fleming and more... A picture's worth a thousand words, but some art is worth a thousand pictures.
The English Tudor style home in the heart of Fairhope is a gem full of the stately, elegant Southern charm of the Gulf Coast and also a treasure trove where Neoclassical, Rococo, and Chinoiserie furniture, design, and accessories are complemented by contemporary art and craft. This one looks like an Architectural Digest feature spread... except... with price tags to encourage you to beautify your own home.
From Famille Rose to Herend, even an actual Royal Copenhagen Empire style porcelain garniture vase that resembles "Old Paris" but is rarer and much higher quality. The office is full of mementos from Jack's service in the House of Representatives.
And, Jewelry.. Not just fine jewelry with some nice costume mixed in... gorgeous high end trunk show jewelry, bespoke upholstered furniture, designer lighting and gorgeous works by Asheville, NC area artists and craftspeople. (Like me and Beth Ann... the Edwards have a long lovely relationship with artists in the states of Alabama and NC).
No beautiful home functions without the practical necessities. Except in this case, even functional items are also gorgeous and handcrafted or well designed. Jolane's attention to detail is unparalleled. Meanwhile, they can be a great value for any shopper... and preselected by one of the best eyes in the region. Even holiday decorations, cigar lighters, the tulipier are special. So many gorgeous practical items; all for sale!
This is a high point of the shopping season! We look forward to seeing you.
Please be courteous and do not block driveways and respect the residents' roadway. The driveway will be blocked for pickups only.
