Wonderful Estate Sale - LINDA SHOGREN ANTIQUES

First a reminder to those of you who are tax exempt:  I must have a copy of your 2026 Tax Excemption or I am obligated to charge you sales tax.  I realize there are a couple of groups here in Montgomery who do not charge tax- to which several of our customers have called the City to complain - mainly that are WE charging YOU and not reporting it.  Trust me - we do have a tax account which can be verified by calling the City and State. Just saying...............

Second, this is a great house - but due to the layout and the narrow driveway, we ask that no one part in the driveway.  Also there is a large gate that separates the front courtyard and house from the street  The sign-up sheet will be posted outside the locked gate.  We will unlock the gate and open up the Courtyard at 8:00 when we give out entry numbers.  This is a short street but there is plenty of parking on the connecting streets.  We just ask that you do not block anyones driveways - 

I have posted pictures of most of the items being offered at this sale.  The sale offers a very nice variety of antiques, art, good oriental rugs as well as unique and whimiscal items.  I believe there is something for everyone at this sale.  Some of the items offered include:

ART:  There is a large amount of art from all of the travels the owner did. We also have art by local artists including Lida Holley, Sharon Yavis, Clark Walker, Slager, Ronald Lewis, Jim Sabel, Barbara Gallagher, Mary Virginia Fuller, Jake Wagnon; Tom Connor; James Folmar, Turkay, and an extremely large inked color landscape on paper by well known Chinese artist Huang Junbi - 1898-1991.  The piece is inscribed along the top and has the red seal which his pieces always had.

SILVER, STERLING, ORIENTAL RUGS, JEWELRY:  There is a large amount of silverplate and sterling, sterling and gold jewelry, beautiful antique oriental rugs - both room size and smaller.  There will be some costume jewelry in bags as well as bags of broken and scrap sterling silver.  Jewelry and sterling will be brought to the sale early Monday morning.

FURNITURE, DECORATIVE ACCESSORIES:  Two sofas (one a sleeper), a pair of outstanding early 1800's Chinese "Dragon Chairs" in fabulous condition; wing chairs; tables; a beautiful early Sheraton card table with inlay; two sideboards; dining table and set of 6 dining chairs; a country kitchen table and a set of 4 English, carved chairs; a 1930's draw table; two early children's trunks; a gorgeous 6 panel screen; a beautiful carved oak curio cabinet; a rosewood linen press/cabinet dating 1800-1820; a pair of French Country arm chairs; a queen motorized bed(mattress firm mattress)  with head and foot board; two nice mahogany chests; bookcases; ornate iron base table with beveled glass top; a life size Chinese figure - Army of Emperor Qin Shihuang  -  (6' in height) in terra cotta - purchased and shipped directly from China. The original figures of course were kept in China but these were replicas of the original army; a beautiful empire sleigh bed; an armoire that is a wonderful smaller size to fit any size bedroom; loveseat; side chairs, motorized recliner, much more.  

There is a tremendous amount of china - a large 56 piece set (11 5 place settings) of Lenox "Autumn"; a large 12 place setting of china with serving pieces; miscellaneous partial sets; a set of Gorham "Cherrywood" crystal including 12 water, 12 ice tea and 8 wine; antique crystal; china bowls; Dresden; a set of porcelain Napolian figures (German - Schiebe Alsbach); brass; copper; tremendous amount of kitchen items, some linens; a very nice collection of paperweights; many antique and vintage books - many first editions and signed by the author; beautiful women's scarfs collected from all over the world; Whirlpool washer and dryer, Maytag full size refrigerator; patio furniture; outdoor pots with plants; miscellaneous.

We will begin working on our next sale immediately after this one. That sale is packed with art, furniture, and unusual art objects and is scheduled for mid March.  We hope to see you at our sale Monday!
