A wonderful moving sale in Vaughn Meadows. Sale will include a nice selection of antiques, many pieces of furniture, accessories, and kitchen items.
Highlights include:
A selection of mid-century modern pieces including a George Nelson-style table, a pair of club chairs by Ib Kofod Larsen, a walnut coffee table from Drexel's 1950s Rhythm collection, a classic Labarge brass cocktail table from Italy, and a pair of chrome chairs Mad Men-style side chairs. There's also a very interesting 1930s Mission-style easel.
Local art from Clark Walker, Nan Cunningham, Mose T. Perhaps most interesting is an original blueprint from the Graham survey completed in 1900 depicting a survey of downtown Montgomery and the riverfront - this item is truly one of a kind and is beautiful framed.
Other art includes two drawings by New York-based Katherine Irwin, a lithograph by Salvador Dali, a collection of six framed Vanity Fair 'Spy' prints dating from the late 1800s, a wonderful 1960s four-panel painting from Japan, as well as approximately a dozen pieces of modestly priced decorative art.
Furniture includes two reclining arm chairs, two beautiful Dutch Colinial side tables from Nadeau, and more.
There's also a selection of fine rugs including two small Turkish kilims, one large Anatolian rug, and a very beautiful runner brought back from Damascus, Syria in 2010. Also included is a mid-size sisal floor rug which has never been used.
A small selection of kitchenware and china, including a 90 piece set of antique Greek key from Mercer, twenty-seven pieces from Mikasa, odds and ends from Wedgwood, Myotts of Staffordshire, Johnson Brothers of England, and an incredibly charming set of kitchen crocks by England's T.G. Green. Also a small selection of crystal and brass candlesticks, assorted serving pieces and 129 pieces of matching casual flatware
Masculine odds and ends including beautiful oyster sticks, several antique trunks from England, several early 1900s hat boxes from England and Maine, an old family portrait, a Currier and Ives etching, a British painting of a ship, a framed English crest, a beautiful old-fashioned, six-foot high birdcage and more.
Instruments include an antique accordion, a fine Yamaha acoustic guitar, and an electric guitar amplifier.
A set of 11 Vera Bradley bags - most never used - will also be sold together.
