Athena Vale prepares descriptions and condition observations in good faith using visual inspection, available documentation, consignor information, and reasonable research.
Photographs are an important part of each listing. Buyers are responsible for reviewing all available photographs, descriptions, measurements, and condition information before bidding.
Measurements, dates, materials, origins, colors, maker identifications, attributions, and estimates may be approximate. Screen settings and lighting may affect how colors appear.
The absence of a written reference to a flaw does not guarantee that an item is flawless. Condition reports are opinions offered as a courtesy and are not warranties.
Buyers should request additional photographs or information before bidding if a particular characteristic is important to their purchasing decision.
4. Authenticity, Attribution and Value
Unless Athena Vale expressly provides a written guarantee, statements regarding age, maker, authorship, origin, metal content, gemstone identity, cultural attribution, authenticity, or value represent good-faith opinions rather than guarantees.
Athena Vale is not responsible for reasonable differences of professional opinion. Buyers seeking certainty should arrange an independent professional examination before bidding whenever possible.
Auction estimates and value statements are not formal appraisals, investment advice, or guarantees of future resale value.
5. Bidding
All bids are binding. Buyers are responsible for confirming the lot, amount, and applicable fees before bidding.
Athena Vale is not responsible for accidental bids, bidding errors, failure to read a listing, internet interruptions, device problems, or auction-platform malfunctions beyond our reasonable control.
Athena Vale may reject or cancel a bid or transaction because of a material listing error, suspected fraud, nonpayment, technical malfunction, legal concern, safety issue, or other circumstance that could compromise the integrity of the sale.
6. Payment and Fees
Payment must be completed within the time stated by Athena Vale or the auction platform.
The buyer is responsible for the winning bid and all disclosed buyer?s premiums, taxes, shipping charges, insurance, handling fees, customs charges, duties, and other applicable costs.
