We are fortunate at this current home to have many items for sale that are embellished with a process called 'Gold Gilding'.  With this decorative technique, a thin coating of gold leaf or powder is applied to varying materials like wood, stone or metal.  If gold leaf is used, it is first hammered into thin sheets for the process.  The most common gold used is 22 karat yellow.

Gold Gilding is often found on Accent Furniture, Mirrors, Picture Frames, Jewelry, Glassware, China, and Flatware, Books, Clocks, Coins, Wooden Boxes, and Religious Icons.
