Born and raised in Illinois, Chris grew up as a devoted Chicago sports fan in a household where sports cards were more than a pastime. His father worked as a Topps broker from the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s, giving Chris an early and uncommon introduction to the world of trading cards and sports memorabilia. The family's friendship with star Jerry Koosman further strengthened that connection to the game and the athletes behind it. From those early beginnings, Chris developed a passion for collecting that would span decades. Over the years, he actively bought, sold, traded, and expanded his holdings, building a collection that reflects both the evolution of the hobby and his own personal journey as a collector. The result is a diverse assortment of sports cards and memorabilia representing multiple generations, iconic players, and memorable eras in sports history. Chris is also a disabled United States Army veteran who served during the Gulf War. Following his military service, the hobby remained an important part of his life, providing a lasting connection to sports, history, and the collecting community. The Chris Fink Collection is not a collection assembled overnight or simply acquired for resale. It is a collection built through decades of personal interest, experience, and participation in the hobby.
