"PYREX" 101...You know what it is, but did you ever wonder why it commands such high prices?

Started early in the 1900's, Pyrex was a clear borosilicate glass that didn't expand or contract with heat.  In 1915, the glass was sold to Corning but the Pyrex label remained.  The primary colors were introduced in 1947 in blue, red, green and yellow.  The wonderful mixing bowl sets were a big hit because their nesting ability made for easier storage.  Patterns were added in the 1950's and continued until the 1980's.

Today, at all our sales, the demands for MidCentury Modern Items far outweigh the supply.  

Shoppers collect and purchase Pyrex for various reasons:

Back to Supply and Demand!  Colors and Patterns were produced in 2 ways:
