Dear Friends, Save the date for Catherine's Estates three day sale with TWO houses right next door to each other!  April 7, 8, 9 from 8am-4pm by Tanque Verde and Tanque Verde Loop Road.  The addresses will be in paper and on web on sale day or look for our signs.  The Twin houses are from an old moneyed, eclectic estate collection of a Father and a Daughter.  He was a Commander who operated ice cutters in the Bering Sea during the Cold War Era. She was a UA Anthropology Professor and Rancher. They were world travelers and the breadth of the collection is extraordinary.  Let’s begin with what is outside the house.  Vehicles!!  There is a ’99 Bounder Fleetwood RV, a ‘97 Ford 800,  an ’83 Mercedes 300 D Turbo Diesel, an ’87 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas 4 door sedan, and trailers, wagons, mowers, even a Pronto mobility chair.  There’s tools, tack, saddles, steel beams, swamp coolers, fire hydrants, horse troughs, power saws – you name it. And the inside only gets better.  Take advantage of the remodel that never happened with a True T49 55” Stainless Refrigerator and Wolf Pro-style 606DG Gas Stove and hood.  Or opt for the old style with a vintage A-1 enamel cook stove.  Barrister and old oak bookcases are filled with many older and first edition leather books. Keep time with an exquisite 19thc. Grandfather clock.  An Edward Curtis, “Portraits from North American Indian Life” introduces you to our collection of Native American pottery and artifacts.  See for yourself what life was like back then with our extensive collection of Meso American Antiquities. You can chart the families’ travels with a rare Joslin Boston Globe by Charles Copley, c. 1855, made doubly desirable with its tripartite cast iron base.  Chinoiserie (define that word to Catherine and get 10% off your purchase) - we’ve got it, from Qing to bling and that includes exceptional Asian inspired furniture, breakfronts, bedroom sets, Peking glass, cloisonné, Old Canton export ware, and a myriad of other items.  There is a room filled with exceptional nautical and shipping collection with riggings, compasses, sextants, model ships, and vintage Coast Guard, lighthouse, and other nautical lights and lanterns.  Further illumination is to be found with our hand painted Ulla Darni Chandelier, Murano glass chandelier, Italian Wisteria chandeliers, GWTW lamps, Tiffany Style lamps, and vintage table lamps from around the world.  And oh, there is glass!  We have three exceptional Gallé glass vases, a Steuben glass recumbent lion on pedestal, a Steuben Pelican and many Baccarat and pressed glass animal figurines. The treasures are vast and because of the twin houses they are often doubled. Choose a Copenhagen dining room set or a beautiful Mesquite table or a mid-century modern walnut dining table that is worthy of a board room.  Room size Gabbeh rugs with lucky goats and oriental carpets grace the floors.  So much art, both fine and fun, dig in! Pressed glass, majolica, Talavera pottery, and figurines round out the collection. To date we have found original paintings by Santos Barbosa, Rufus Zogbaum, Ross Stefan, Mark Daniels, plus many delicate Chinese and Japanese watercolors and wood block prints.  Art isn’t just for the walls, we have a bronze library table by Phillip and Kelvin LaVerne, and a cool coyote by Markus Pierson.  Pressed glass, majolica, Cowboy art, talavera pottery, and figurines round out the collection.  This is only a summary, come prepared for the hunt!  Dealers, this is your chance to buy in bulk.  Most items are priced, but some bulk items in the garages (three of them) will be open for offers.  There’s washers, dryers, freezers, mowers and more.  There are many fine examples of fine porcelain, dishware, sterling, Staffordshire, indulgences of all types, and of course the good old fashioned kitchenalia. The goodness extends out into the garden with garden furniture, plants, pots, garden statuary, monumental amethysts, geodes, and more.  Be prepared to be amazed!  Plan for several visits because that's what it's going to take to take all this in.  It has been an ambitious undertaking and will be a treat for you.  Don't miss this sale!

Ciao, Catherine  520-299-4481
