Wendell “Bud” Hurlbut Estate Liquidation -- Part 2
Thursday April 12 from Noon to 3:00 pm
Friday – Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

This is a rare opportunity for collectors, dealers, artists, craftsmen and curiosity seekers alike to own a piece of the Hurlbut memorabilia. Bud Hurlbut was known in the industry as the Dean of Amusement Parks, and designed some of the Knott's Berry Farm rides; he later opened Castle Park. There is an entire blacksmith shop on the premises consisting of a forge, two anvils, a vise and approximately 20 sets of tongs, hammers, etc. and a huge amount of patterns; a Little Giant 25 pound trip hammer in working order, and some traffic signals.
We have a number of coin operated machines, several beautiful hand painted carousel horses, some miniature carousel animals, a tea cup ride, custom made mechanical clowns, several Mutoscope reels, amusement park signs, hundreds of hand wrought iron pieces and fence sections, amusement ride original renderings, original artwork by ride designers (Shipman, Marshall), Knott’s and Castle Park souvenirs, tickets, tokens, carnival booths, a pontoon paddle boat, antique mining equipment, taxidermy, hand carved and painted carousel animals, four antique bells (one a Hammett train bell), small mechanical carousels, china, a large Weller Louelsa pot and many vintage collectible ceramic items, Ron Lee collection, crystal, a Hammond M 2 organ, Bud’s roll top desk and a second roll top desk, trunks, Bud’s original tool box and other tool boxes, drafting tables, many primitives including oxen yoke, mule tack, dynamite blaster and other antique mining collectibles, galvanized steel bath tubs, eagles.  This sale takes place in Bud’s old machine shop/barn behind Knott’s Berry Farm. This is truly the sale of the century. The back lot is full of “pick your part” type things – a boy’s (or artist’s) dream! There is a wooden storage shed and there may be some trailers for sale, ephemera, toys, coke machine, vintage clothing. Trailsers are still being unloaded. Worth the visit to see this historic property that will soon be developed into commercial property, a piece of history soon to be gone.

**Containers are still being emptied and many items will not be listed in the ad due to time constraints.

*Any item listed herein is subject to prior sale to designated beneficiaries. No worries, plenty for everyone! Pictures added daily.
