Privately Listed Sale
Description & Details
This sale is both an estate sale and a downsizing/moving sale. The gentleman who passed was an engineer who collected plenty, and kept a workshop in his garage filled with buckets, boxes, duffle bags, trunks, and more... When I arrived the garage was so packed that it was wall-to-wall, and chest high that I could barely see the floor! The garage is filled with several neat items including a bench saw, compressor, welding tanks, and antique hand tools! The trustee of the estate is a retired contractor and building inspector who is moving to Florida. Through his many years of inspecting old (and many historic) buildings, including the famous Bradley Building in downtown Los Angeles, John collected old signs, hardware, furniture and fixtures. There are many items in the garage as well is in the house and in the backyard patio area. Items were brought to this house in the early 80's but range from the 1920's, 1940's, 50's - 60's & 70's. Mid-century couch, loveseat, tall dresser, buffet and formal dining room table/ chairs. Two nice oak display cabinets (reproductions), an art deco dresser, a 1946 Juke box, old surfboards, skateboards, old fishing equipment, 300 old record albums and a canoe!!! There is 1927 art by Louis Icart, Art Deco original prints and hand carved frames by Maxfield Parrish. There is antique Indian and Cowboy framed photos and several vintage prints too. Also there is a Daisey BB gun (1960's) in excellent condition and leather postcards from the turn of the century. There are clothes, vintage Barbies, old marbles, a trundle bed, a queen sized bed, old books, a newer lawn mower, tons contractors hardware (several pounds of nails and screws.) There is a lot more that I will describe and post latter along with photos...
