We are so pleased to be able to invite you into the home of Ross and Joan Prout. This beautiful house was home to this wonderful family for nearly 40 years. Though the home, it's views and furnishings seem opulent by most standards, Ross and Joan actually come from rather humble beginnings. Ross was born in the smalltown of Rico, Colorado where his family was well established. His ancestral roots run through the mining and Geology trades and can be traced running back through many generations all the way back to Wales. In the 1930's Ross' family decided to relocate to the San Fernando Valley. While the natural course would be for Ross to take up the family mantle and become a geologist, he broke with tradition and became and Oral Surgeon instead. He was, in fact, one of the most esteemed Oral Surgeons in the area.
While on a fishing trip off of the coast of Santa Monica in the early 1950's, Ross met and was entranced by the beautiful Joan. She had recently moved to California from a farm in rural Minnesota to practice Nursing. He wooed and won her and soon made Joan his bride. Together, they raised five children and created this stunning home. Ross and Joan relished the time they had together and loved nothing more than to explore new places and peoples. They traveled extensively over the years and visited England, France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Scandinavia, Ireland, and Scotland. They would bring home treasures from far off lands and would frequently use them as a catalyst allowing the memories of those far-flung travels to rush back and be shared with Friends and family. Though they are no longer with us, today, we celebrate Ross and Joan as we assist in the redistribution of many beautiful artifacts that stand as a testimony to their lives well lived.
This is going to be the sale everyone will be talking about for the next several weeks. You do not want to miss it.
