GRECIAN MODERN MASTERPIECE IN ENCINO

A one-day sale featuring the entire contents of a custom-built, sprawling home perched high in the hills of Encino. This fabulous decorator furnished Neo Greco-Roman masterpiece is frozen in time and nearly unchanged since the 1960’s. Filled with high-style decorative furnishings, including custom designed furniture in a vintage color scheme of “atomic” green, “high-fire” gold and shades of “screaming” pink.

FURNITURE:

A low-slung, custom wrap-around sectional sofa done in oyster velvet with lime green piping and silk pillows.
A coordinating, gargantuan “atomic green” glass top cocktail table custom designed to follow the line of the sofa.
A pair of deep green velvet upholstered, tufted ottomans.
A finely detailed Grecian Romanesque console table with a white marble top. (54” long)
A monumental, 78” round glass topped dining table with a lavishly carved and “high-fire” gold base. Circling the table are eight flamboyantly styled high back dining chairs in two-tone velvet.
A Mediterranean filigree, conservatory style dining table with wrought iron base and contrasting top, measuring 78” long with the extra leaf. Six matching chairs and a three piece etagere round out the set and coordinates nicely with a Mediterranean glass front china cabinet.
An extravagant Regency style bedroom suite consisting of a gilt framed tufted raspberry velvet canopy bed, a large scale tufted velvet ottoman, and a pair of boudoir slipper chairs upholstered in “screaming pink” velvet. Also included are a 9-drawer dresser and matching pair of bedside tables and a two-tier cocktail table in antique white finish with gilt details and hardware.
A wall mounted vanity table, complete with lighted mirror and a gilded iron Roman style bench with cushioned seat.

LIGHTING:
A great array of swag and pendant lamps, shimmering with prismatic crystals and a wonderful, large gilded wall sconce in a delicate laurel leaf design, measuring an impressive 64 inches wide.
A baronial scaled floor candelabrum with lyre shaped base, cherubic details and multi-arm lights in a deep, bronzed gold finish.

ENTERTAINMENT:

High-end vintage McIntosh audio components, with all original paperwork, built in to a custom fabricated stereo cabinet. (91” x 21”)
A pair of vintage Empire speakers, in a 20” cylindrical column format with antique green finish, complete with original paperwork.
A large collection of vintage photography, sound and communications equipment.

HOBBY:

A Mercedes hybrid bicycle.
A cool vintage 1960’s Schwinn Varsity men’s bicycle.
A quilter,s dream cache of vintage portable and cabinet sewing machines, TONS of quilting fabric, notions and supplies and instruction books.
