Mr. K’s Estate Sales Inc. presents the Estate liquidation of A GIANT Train and Toy Collection In exclusive neighborhood of La Palma, CA. The owners have lived in the same house for 45 years. Carl was a Distributor to major department stores as well as hobby shops around southern California. After retirement the Owner went to work in a train shop in Culver City, CA. for FUN!

Here is a little information on Carl, The owner of this large collection.

Carl developed a love of trains growing up in Denver, Colorado marveling at the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, the main line through the Rockies. Throughout his lifetime he has enjoyed riding numerous trains such as the Durango-Silverton, Georgetown Loop, Cumbres and Toltec, and Royal Gorge to name a few. He started his love of toys and collectibles at a young age, making models of cars and planes and building his own extensive train layouts. When he moved out to California in 1963, he worked for Western Model Distributors selling to various companies in Los Angeles and outlying areas. After being blessed with a growing family, he ventured into the field of real estate and found great success for many years, but after retirement found himself looking for ways to enjoy his hobby of collecting. Carl found joy working for several years at one of the largest train stores in California, Allied Model Trains in Culver City. He developed a new love for the Department 56 line of buildings and shared that with his wife of 55 years, Carolyn. He has found joy in cherishing the days of old, building an extensive collection of collectibles, and the history of the railroad throughout the years. Last year Carl donated over 1,000 books to the Colorado Railroad Museum. He has been a member there for decades and is also a charter member of the Fullerton Railway Plaza Association (FRPA) as well as a member of the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Inc. His love of trains and collectibles has been enjoyed by his family and friends and we hope you will find joy in them with those you hold dear.
