Small, 2 bedroom, house packed with wonderful treasures.   THURSDAY......11AM - 4PM FRIDAY..........9AM - 4PM SATURDAY.....9AM - 4PM   ADDRESS IS: 320 St. Joseph Ave. Long Beach 90814 ( on the North end of the L.B. marine stadium )   50% OFF   This is the estate of Bob and Betty Whitlock.   Both born in Long Beach, Bob was a west coast jazz bassist and is the last surviving original member of the Gerry Mulligan Quartet, with Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan and Chico Hamilton as band mates.       ( photos and text courtesy of jazzwax.com )   Bob joined the influential piano-less group in the summer of 1952. Without a piano in the Mulligan quartet, Bob had to work doubly hard to create not only the metronome-like time-keeping tempo but also play piano-like treble runs when gaps in the music needed fills. In fact, Bob was not only responsible for introducing Chet Baker to Gerry Mulligan but also wooing him back to the quartet after Mulligan blasted Baker for his loud warm-up exercises of which Baker walked out.   Betty, his wife, was also in the arts as a professional dancer and dance instructor, who, later became a bookkeeper and then went on to own the lucrative computer and office supply store, Office Solutions in Long Beach, with Bob. ---------------------------------------- There is a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado that is for sale.  Car is being sold "AS IS". Car starts and runs, brand new battery, but the front fender is rubbing on the front tire and exterior/interior could use a good cleaning. I noticed the stereo does not fully function. I have not inspected the car beyond that. It does have a registered salvaged title from a minor accident.    Von was an avid collector of music and has a ton of records, mostly classical, (over 1,000, condition varies from poor to new), lots of CD's (close to 600) and some cassettes.   There are 3 pianos, 1 being a 1920's Baldwin, and a few instruments for sale.   Betty and Von were avid readers and there is quite an assortment of books.     We have microphones, amps, Sennheiser headphones and other music stuff, too.   He was also a hobbyist and loved his model airplanes.  We have a nice assortment of vintage model kits, a lot in their original boxes and unopened.......and TONS of tools and knives and things to make your hobbies with including vintage air brushes by Badger & Paasche, and model paints and stickers......lots of stuff !!!   Von also loved his cameras and electronics.    We have boxes of camera stuff and misc. electronics.     Lots of ADCOM stereo equipment and various speakers.   Family just brought in some of Jack Lynde's recording equipment......Jordan & Shure, and microphones.   Some antique furniture   There is a nice collection of the ceramic lace and dolls, too.   AND SOOOOOO MUCH MORE.........   TO SEE MORE DETAILED PHOTOS....Please Copy and paste.... www.estatesalemandan.webs.com   SEE YOU THERE......     Dan & Suki  Amy & Andrew -----------------------------------------     NEXT AUCTION.....
