A classic mid-century home is packed with an eclectic array  from four generations!

Owner worked most of his life for Douglas (later MacDonell Douglas) Aircraft

(Remember the DC-9 from its infant stages to its full streamlined stretch look?).

His wife was a well-known published poet. Their paneled library is packed with

books on aviation, literature, poetry and antique children’s books. The office is

filled with Douglas aircraft photos, aviation memorabilia and ephemera from

World Wars I and II including rare model planes, ashtrays, lighters, old newspapers, original photos,

magnificent early aviation artwork, vintage lighted standing globe, mid century modern Lane desk,

Douglas Aircraft and airline presentation pieces, plus so much more.

The family has a long history of military service, and during the 1920s were stationed

in China.  The house has many treasures from that time.  We have superb and rarely

seen textiles, including Chinese embroidered robes, silks, piano shawls, jewelry, quality vintage linens.

Chinese watercolors and Japanese prints and woodblocks, Satsuma and moriage ceramics,

bronzes, old opium pipe and paraphernalia, a pair of "bound foot" embroidered Chinese shoes, a

magnificent large Chinese sterling cocktail shaker with dragon motif, old carved Chinese cabinet and trunk,

Chinese etched rock crystal jars.... The tables are chock full of the odd, old and interesting.  Art

includes beautiful Plein Air watercolors of the early Arroyo Seco by Paul Conner,

an original piece by Edward Borein, Chang Reynolds "circus" drawings, signed Ansel Adams poster.

Furniture and furnishings range from mid-century sofas and chairs

to Heath covered casserole, vintage Japanese lacquerware,  Bauer and other California ceramics,

Tiffany "Whittier" silverplate flatware, quality porcelains and crystal.  Military memorabilia includes

rare service medals, artifacts, plus an array of old political campaign buttons,

antique watches (including a pocket watch by Tiffany in 18k).   And of course there is garage filled

with tools, tool boxes, 19th century furniture, gilded crystal chandelier, Christmas decorations, and so

very much more....

Another room is filled with six racks of brand new contemporary clothes, shoes, accessories, all size small!

The clothes are samples from current, trending designers, and we even have select pieces by Rick Owens

and  Stella McCartney, plus brand new cashmere sweaters by Inhabit and Aqua.

This is a very special sale and the entire crew has had a wonderful time exploring the family history and

discovering their treasures.  We hope to see you there.
