Moran’s is delighted to introduce the new year with an installment of our Made in Mexico auction on February 15th, 2022. With 360 lots in the auction, 230 of those are mostly mid-20th Century Mexican jewelry from all the preeminent designers including Antonio Pineda. William Spratling, Hector Aguilar, Matlilde Poulat and Hubert Harmon amongst other notable designers. Fine art and sculpture offerings from Francisco Zuniga, Jorge Marin, Carlos Merida, Felipe Castañeda, Gustavo Montoya dot the catalogue with color and intrigue. Additionally, the sale will present a selection of Latin and Central American art, including Guatemalan, Peruvian, and Panamanian silver, pottery, and woodwork. Also on offer is a large collection of Mexican pottery including excellent examples of polychrome ceramics of Jalisco including Tlaquepaque, Tonalá pottery, with master ceramicist Juan Quezada among a strong collection of Mata Ortiz.
