Description & Details

Mid-Century Modern style reappeared on our radar more than a decade ago, but the wildly popular show "Mad Men" has pushed it even farther, and it is a hot, hot, hot trend for designers, hipsters, collectors, and just about everyone.

While we often find that Boomers' kids have no interest in their parents' furnishings, Mid-Century Modern is the really big exception. This is one event you won't want to miss.

At this sale, you will enjoy shopping Mid-Century Modern furniture, decor and art that has been beautifully cared for over the years.

Midcentury modern's emphasis on pared-down forms, contemporary patterns, natural materials and a seamless flow between indoors and out create a brilliant aesthetic of functional comfort and chic style.

A few highlights of this sale:

An Olivetti Lettera 22 electric typewriter (perhaps it was the one that Don Draper used for ad copy?).
A 1968 Old Murray Men's Single-Speed Bicycle with coaster brakes.
Impeccable TEAC reel-to-reel recorder and Bozak brand speakers in wood casing.

Lest you think this all sounds "so 50 years ago" -- you'll find that these Cal Berkeley grads combined the MCM aesthetic with completely contemporary kitchen appliances (small and large) plus some great Cal memorabilia.

So from the "hi-fi" to the barware, you'll find a quality collection of items and furnishings that even Don Draper would covet.

Mark your calendar now for the Independence Day Weekend.
This Above and Beyond Estate Sales event will be held Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 from 8am to 5pm (both days)
