WE LIVED IN THE SAME HOUSE FOR CLOSE TO 50 YEARS!

The patriarch of the family valiantly served his country as a naval officer during the onset of world war two. His original officers uniform, hat, gear, knives and military medals will be for sale. Including some items from relatives that served during world war one. After receiving his honorable discharge papers, the patriarch made a smooth transition into civilian life by settling down in the bedrock community of Southgate. A family was raised in the custom built home that was designed and built by hand, every single piece of wood by the patriarch who was a man of action use to getting things done.

Among other things that kept those skilled hands busy were teaching shop classes to students at Southgate High School. Classes included drafting, mechanics, wood shop, and more. He also worked himself up to becoming a school counselor and eventually an assistant principal at the school. Included in the sale is a garage full of old vintage wood working tools, electric tools, power tools, hand tools of all sorts many dating back to the turn of the century.

As an educator, he loved books of all subjects from all over the world. Included in the families 1000+ book collection are books by Charles Dickens and other famous authors. Another hobby that kept the patriarch busy when he wasn't teaching class was clock making and repairs. Included in the sale are approximately 25+ clocks of all types including a tool chest full of clock repair tools. The garage is packed full of everything imaginable including a 20ft hand built Tom Blake style paddleboard.

The matriarch of the family was a wonderful homemaker who loved to shop for antiques and collectibles. As a part of the depression era generation she followed the mantra "waste not ,want not" save, save, and never ever throw anything away. The matriarchs pride and joy was ceramic pottery and glassware of all sorts. The following pottery and glassware from her collection will be for sale: Roseville, Van Briggle, Frankoma, Brock of California, Bauer, McCoy, Carnival Glass, Fenton Milk Glass, Vaseline Glass, Cranberry Glass, Hobnail Glass, Depression Glass & more.
