Gigantic Valley Village Estate Sale

Jane Withers has been known by many generations of fans for many things.  Known for terrorizing Shirley Temple, to her role as Josephine the Lady Plumber in the Comet Commercials, to her vast charity work, her amazing doll collection, and her stunning collection of movie memorabilia are only a small portion of her career that has spanned over 89 years. The singing, dancing, impersonating, and charismatic star began her career in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Known as Dixie's Dainty Dewdrop, she starred in her own radio program at the age of two and a half. After moving to Hollywood at the age of seven, she landed the plum role opposite Shirley Temple in the film, "Bright Eyes". By the age of eight, she had already landed her first starring role in the film, "Ginger". At age eleven, Jane was polled by the motion picture fans as one of the top ten box office stars in the world. After a long career, she left show business to raise her family that included five children. Jane returned to films after a chance meeting with director George Stevens, who cast her as "Vashti" in the epic film, "Giant".  She continued working and became famous to a whole new generation of Television fans as "Josephine the Lady Plumber" in the Comet cleanser commercials.  It lasted twelve years and became on of the longest running commercials in television history.  Jane was a frequent guest on many beloved television programs including, "The Munsters", The Alfred Hitchcock Hour", "Murder, She Wrote", and "The Love Boat".  Her talent to mimic actors was prominent in the Disney animated film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" , in which she flawlessly took over the role of "Laverne the Gargoyle" after the passing of actress Mary Wicks during production.  Jane's love of collecting began at the early age of six.  Her appreciation of fine craftsmanship, art, and clothing began a long journey of vast collections, including furniture, paintings, cut glass, crystal, silver, dolls, as well as many other eclectic and unique items throughout her lifetime.  Pacific Estate Sales is proud to present items from the Jane Withers Collection.

This sale is so bursting with treasures and the house is very small so security will have to limit the amount of people entering.  We will accommodate everyone as space allows.  The backyard also has so many items.  Your patience and manners are requested.
