Art & Antiques From The Home Of Merle Steven McClung

Merle was born and raised in poverty in rural Minnesota. His sports and intellect won him a full scholarship to Harvard in 1961 where he excelled in basketball and academics. Upon graduation in 1965, he was one of 32 in the USA awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and he attended Oxford University in England for 2 years. He returned to Harvard and after having earned a law degree in 1972, he spent his professional career "giving back" by promoting education for underserved populations. In 2015 he founded Make Our Democracy Work Enterprises, a foundation that would receive all his assets upon his death.

This auction follows on from a successful series of private sales and an in-home sale and seeks to liquidate the remaining items of high value from his estate. It includes signed artwork and antique furniture.
