Headline: 1,500-Piece Modernist Studio Archive: The Estate of Silvio Carl Fracassini (1907–1997)

Dates & Times: Saturday August 8, 2026, 10am to 6pm, Sunday August 9, 2026, 10am to 5:30pm, Monday August 10, 2026 10am to 6pm Then until liquidated.

Description: We are proud to present the historic, massive studio liquidation of listed American Modernist painter, illustrator, and ceramicist Silvio Carl Fracassini.

This unprecedented single-artist estate features roughly 1,500 original works spanning his highly active career. A prominent student of Colorado pioneer Vance Kirkland and Walt Kuhn, Fracassini later served as a respected professor of fine art at both The University of Denver and The State University of Iowa. His works are held in permanent university museum collections and are highly prized examples of mid-century regional abstraction.

Inventory Breakdown & Subjects:

  1. Mid-Century Abstracts: High-vibrancy oils, geometric gouaches, and multi-layered abstract expressionist watercolors.
  2. The Figure & The Nude: An expansive archive of academic, modernist, and expressionist life studies. Features charcoal, crayon, and ink renderings of both men and women.
  3. Studio Pottery: Hand-thrown modernist vessels, glazed sculptural pottery, and signed ceramics reflecting his mid-century academic career.
  4. Other Art: There will also be available from the estate art from other artist who were friends or close acquaintances of The Fracassini Family, Conrad Albrizio, John Paul Jones and several others to name a few.

Collector, Gallery, & Dealer Notice:

Due to the immense volume of this collection, items will be priced to move. This is a historic opportunity for art dealers, framing professionals, appraisers, and Mid-Century Modern interior designers to acquire large volume portfolios or dramatic statement pieces.

Terms & Logistics:

  1. Entry: Due to the shear volume of the Art, we will be limiting the number of people into the shop, you will be given a number upon arrival keep it with you until you check out.
  2. Payment: Cash, and all major credit cards.
  3. Packing: Buyers must bring their own portfolios, flat boxes for works on paper, and crates/bubble wrap for ceramics. Staff cannot assist with packing or heavy lifting.
  4. Security: Shop is highly monitored with 24/7 video surveillance. Valuables are removed from the premises nightly. Security is on premises.
