Kelsey Farm Estate Sale this Saturday (July 25, 10-4pm) is not the usual estate sale. This is a single family’s collection, assembled and cared for across four generations at a working equestrian farm founded in 1949 — and it is being offered intact, with its history, for the first and only time.

Victorian furniture passed down through the family, hand-painted, commissioned china in hunt motifs, made for this family specifically. Sporting and equestrian artwork collected over decades of fox hunting tradition tracing back to Bacon Hall Farm in Glencoe, Maryland. Sterling silver. Antique furniture spanning Victorian and early American styles. Together, it tells one coherent story — a family’s life with horses, hunting, and hospitality — rather than a random accumulation of household goods.

Among the pieces still available are a Victorian settee with its matching parlor chair, an antique cherry corner cupboard, equestrian paintings and prints, hunt scene plates, demitasse set, coffee and tea pitchers with cups, all hand-painted by P F Menzies. Barn/horse items available and household items and other surprises. Most of these pieces have been in our family for decades—some for generations. We’ll also have smaller household items and treasures separate from the inside of home.
