Description & Details
Welcome to a lovely sale in Ridgefield
There is a wide variety of style, ranging from Early American to some fun MCM pieces. Including an early Salterini - handmade wrought iron, dining set.
What is most interesting about this sale is an ancestor of the family; General McAllister of the Civil War. Well many items have been donated to a museum, We are privileged to offer a Tiffany & Co, sterling silver, tea set given to General McAllister by is friend Robert Lenox Kennedy in 1866. NOTE: This set will be offered at ABOVE the current market for melt. This is a treasure, negoation on the price will be at the home owners approval. It will be priced fairly, and admired by the right buyer.
Offered is a set of six photos by H. Scott Orr (1881-1972). He was one of the first photographers to document aerial warfare. These are his famous series of images documenting destruction of the German Zeppelin SL-11. One of his series is currently shown in the MOMA.
There is a nice selection of art; done in several different media types and representing different subject matters. Being a Red Sox fan this is a hard one to swallow, but a great artist proof rendering of Yankee Stadium. Very special!
It's not full of silver, but a fabulous flatware chest. Made of Mahogany and brass and in mint condition. Another piece of the families history and a treasure for sure.
The lady of the house was an avid gardener.... You will find everything from garden tools, decorative pots, plants, cement statuary, and supplies. She also loved her birds and collected some very fun (large) bird cages. A home office packed full of office supplies and a HUGE collection of books.
There is something for everyone in this very clean sale.
