ITEMS ARE SOLD AS-IS. Items are only sold in person, so you can inspect items before you pay.

Doors open at 10am.

We do not manage sign-up lists. Entry is first-come, first-served. If a list is produced when we open our doors, we will honor it with the agreement of those in line.

There will be a limited number of people allowed in the home during the sale. We limit the number for the safety of the items in the home and so you can have an enjoyable shopping experience when you enter. Some of rooms of the home will have a limit the number of shoppers allowed at a time.

We will not allow beverages, large purses, bags or boxes in the home. Additionally, dogs, baby carriers and strollers are not allowed inside. You will be asked to leave these items outside the home or in your car.

All sales are final - there are no refunds or exchanges.

Please note that we charge sales tax on all sales unless you have a valid resale or diplomatic exemption that you can provide to us.

We accept cash, cards, tap-to-pay, and checks up to $200. All card and tap-to-pay purchases will incur an additional 3% processing fee.

Buyers are responsible for removing their purchases from the premises by the close of the sale. We are happy to provide the names of movers who can help.

It is the purchaser's responsibility to have the necessary tools to dismantle furniture, load, and move the items purchased. Any damage caused by negligent moving will be the purchaser’s responsibility.

Staff are not permitted to help with furniture removal, packing purchases, or helping to move them to your car.

We are not responsible for items you purchase and forget to take with you.

Join Savvy this weekend for a classic downsizing sale in the Foxhall neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The sale is one for collectors and enthusiasts of art and history, featuring items from a family dedicated to scholarship and public service.

The sale includes a significant collection of signed and inscribed books focused on U.S. politics and international affairs. Highlights include a five-volume custom-bound set of "Profiles in Courage" by John F. Kennedy, each personally inscribed and signed by Jackie Kennedy. You'll also find books signed by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, Bill Clinton, as well as books with gift inscriptions from Robert McNamara.

This collection attests to the former owner’s academic life, including books and periodicals on political and international affairs, as well as works he authored. In a nod to his time with the Peace Corps, the sale includes ceremonial textiles from Malaysia and Borneo, alongside other ethnographic and tribal items from the region.

Art lovers will find original works, including sculptures by Norman Pastor, framed pieces by Lou Stovall, Marcia Weese, Philip R. Hodgson, and Cynthia Mackenzie, and a highly desired numbered screenprint by Gene Bernard Davis.

Additionally, there is an extensive collection of art glass by notable artists such as Josh Simpson, Richard Royal, Jan Kotik, Molly Stone, Simon Pearce, Oiva Toikka, and Steuben.

The sale features a wide range of high-quality furniture, including multiple upholstered sofas, as well as several pairs of club chairs; a lucite and glass table in the style of Maison Jansen, and a unique Lion in Frost-style glass and acrylic round "Iceberg" coffee table.

The dining room has a burlwood and brass dining table and Jack Lenore Larsen dining chairs. Bedroom furniture includes mid-Century modern pieces from Vitze Nobler of Denmark, as well as a Peter Graves Sorenson for Torring Designs teak bed.

For those interested in silver, there are pieces from Buccellati, Jensen, Tiffany, and a complete set of Reed and Barton Hampton Court flatware, as well as serving pieces.
