Description & Details
Washington, DC Mega Estate Sale | July 24–26 | A Remarkable Collection from an Extraordinary Life
This is going to be one of our biggest estate sales of the summer—and we're just getting started.
This sale offers a rare glimpse into the life of Charlotte Noshpitz, whose extraordinary journey spanned wartime heroism, pioneering work in psychology, and a lifelong passion for art. As a teenager in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, Charlotte served with the French Resistance as a weapons smuggler and clandestine courier, risking her life to help save countless others. For her bravery, she was awarded four French medals, including the Croix de Guerre. After the war, she became a psychologist and helped advance the fields of art therapy and dance therapy, collaborating with pioneers including Margaret Naumburg and Marian Chase. An accomplished artist herself, Charlotte worked in metal, wood, ceramics, and even created whimsical miniature sculptures from chewing gum. Her lifelong love of creativity is reflected throughout this remarkable collection.
Our team is still unpacking, organizing, and photographing an incredible home filled with fascinating treasures. There are boxes waiting to be explored, meaning new discoveries and fresh photos will be added regularly. Be sure to check back often—you won't want to miss what's uncovered next!
