Over 100 years ago, back in 1917, during the height of World War I, a little baby girl named Mary was born in Dade City to Col. Arthur Auvil and his wife Ruby Sealy Auvil. Mary passed away this year at 101 years old, after a very full and rewarding long life.
Back in 1943, some 76 years ago, during the height of World War II, while the Allied Forces were at war in Italy, Frederick Julien Hale and Mary Auvil were fortunate to be married and soon began their young family. Twenty years later, in the mid 1960s they purchased a large tract of woods, just west of Ramsey Rd in Dade City, near where Mary was born in 1917. Here they built their large family home, and then selectively parceled out the rest of the land, for only a few other exclusive homes.
This quiet country road, nestled deep within the woods, became known as Hale Rd, named after the Hale family who first built here. To this day it remains peacefully quiet, still tucked away deep within these same woods that have always been here, long before the surrounding community of Dade City ever existed.
The Hale family home, built in the mid-1960s, has remained virtually untouched by time, and still to this day contains most of the same era furniture and contents that it first did all those years ago. There’s also gorgeous antiques that were passed down through the Hale family from generation to generation, for well over 100 years.
Step back in time with us July 26-28 and rediscover this intriguing time capsule that has been virtually untouched for over 50 years!
