The Torah a piece of Judaica history dating back to the Spanish Inquisition. The 'Argaman Institute' for Identification Appraisal & Restoration of Works of Art in Herzliyah, Israel, have authenticated this ancient scroll. This Torah is beyond compare. Because of its age, history, condition and size, this Torah is one of a kind and not only irreplaceable but, it is the only "Inquisition Period" Torah known to several authenticators. It is encased in silver.
This Torah represents the special circumstances in which the Torah was kept, preserved and discovered and also represents the Jewish people in their history of survival.
This item has been appraised for $800,000 to $1,000,000 by Sotheby's.
