This auction is a compilation of Rare and Special items collected from around the world by Command Master Chief (Ret) Mark S. Curley, USN (ret). Most were precious gifts for his dear late wife while away on POW Rescue Missions, or acquired on memorable travels together.

Mark Curley was born in Connecticut and grew up in New Hampshire. In 1980, he joined the Navy as a Parachute Rigger. He spent the next 31 years on various assignments around the country and overseas. His first tour was with Navy Fighter Weapons School, famously known as TOPGUN. Subsequently, he deployed to Panama in support of surveillance operations conducting drug interdiction operations. He led POW/MIA search teams into the jungles of Laos searching for Missing In Action from the Vietnam War. He served three tours of duty in helicopter squadrons, two tours in Combat Control squadrons and two tours in Electronic Attack squadrons. He deployed onboard six different aircraft carriers and served back-to-back, 3-year overseas assignments in both Japan and Spain with his beautiful wife, Peggy. He trained Special Forces, Aviators, and other High Risk of Capture Personnel in all aspects of combat survival. He is a fully qualified and skilled interrogator and an expert combat survival instructor in SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape), CSAR (Combat Search & Rescue), Anti/Counterterrorism, Hostage Detention & Survival, Desert Survival, Jungle Survival and Water Survival. Master Chief Curley is a combat veteran who served in Panama post-Operation Just Cause in 1990; Souda Bay, Crete for the Kosovo Air Campaign in 1998; Incirlik, Turkey for Operation Northern Watch in 1999; Persian Gulf multiple times for Operation Southern Watch and deployed in-country to Al Asad, Iraq, participating in electronic attack combat operations from 2005-2006 during the Iraq War. His last 12 years of service, he led his command’s as the Command Master Chief. He retired from Active Duty in December 2010. He is a decorated war veteran with numerous personal and campaign medals. He has traveled to 42 countries, while his wife Peggy, visited 30. Master Chief Curley joined the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation’s National Flight Academy (NFA) team in April 2011. He is the NFA’s Operations Director. Sadly, his wife Peggy passed away in July 2021. His oldest son, Andrew, is a Medical Doctor and lives in Arkansas. His youngest son, Quentin, is in management with Disney in Orlando. Mark currently resides in Pensacola, Florida.

Pickups are Thursday, January 4th & Friday, January 5th from 11am-2pm ONLY. Please bring necessary tools for breaking down large furniture pieces, and your own helpers to move and load your items.
